Parents and Players,
We are really excited about getting the season started for everyone this weekend. We are so glad to have you with us and we look forward to having all 800+ of us out at the fields on Saturday! There are a few things I want to remind you of as we begin the season:
1. Weather – We do not expect any problems this weekend, however, if for any reason we are unable to play due to weather conditions, we will notify coaches through GroupMe, post it on the website, facebook, as well as send a mass email to all parents. Please check before you leave for the fields. Usually the only weather that shuts us down is lightning. We will be closing the fields anytime it is within 10 miles.
2. Field numbers are on the schedule you can find on the website surgesoccertx.org Please pay attention to the letter following your field number on the schedule. These letters designate the field you should be on and will be clearly posted on the goals. All of this takes place on the East side of the complex. You can see a field map here: Field Layout
***** Sidelines – For 2011-2016, all players will all be on one sideline with their coaches. If you have not been approved with a KidSafe badge (coaches and managers), then you must be on the opposite sideline. Board Members will be walking around reminding people of this. Parents should be on the half of the field opposite their players.
3. Field Marshalls – If you need assistance while at the fields, please look for one of the people from our board. We will be wearing maroon polo shirts. We will locate ourselves near each game field so that we can be easily found.
4. Behavior Policy – We have asked everyone to have read and abide by our behavior policy. All parents and players have agreed to abide by these when you registered. The entire policy is written to ensure that we have a great day at the fields. Use this link to read it again. Behavior Policy
*** Reminder – Our referees are learning too. Please watch your behavior with them. Allow our board members and coaches to help them become better referees
5. No Dogs, no tobacco, no alcohol, no guns – Please do not bring any of these things to the fields, they are not allowed.
6. Concessions – If you are going to be eating out anyway, we encourage you to eat at the fields. It will be cheaper than fast food and any money we make at the fields helps us keep the cost of registration as low as possible. Please eat with us!
7. Parking – For safety reasons, please park in designated parking areas. You may have to park a good distance from your game field, but we are all out here to get exercise. Do not part along the road inside the park or along Old Stagecoach Road. You may be ticketed.
