Can my child play with their buddy or sibling?
We love to honor buddy/sibling requests, however there is a Capitol Area Youth Soccer Association (CAYSA) rule we must follow. We cannot roster players to a team below their age group level (except for very specific, usually medical reasons). For example, if Judah is born September 2018 (U8) and Micah is born in July 2018 (U9), we cannot roster Micah to Judah’s team according to the new age groups because he would be playing down an age group level. US Soccer is now rostering by school year, not by birth year, to learn more, visit our age division page.
We do not roster players up an age group without Board approval.
When will I know who my player’s coach is and what team they are on?
You will know who your player’s coach is and what team they are on as soon as we have all of our volunteer coaches signed up to accommodate the number of players registered. The faster parents/community members/relatives volunteer to coach, the faster we can assign coaches and contact players about practice. Typically, you will hear from your coach the weekend before practices begin. Please make sure the contact email on your player’s account is up to date, and that you check your spam folder for coach communication. For the Fall 2026 Season, you should hear from your coach by September 13, 2026.
When and where are games? When will we get our game schedule?
All games for U5-U12 age divisions are played at 5 Mile Dam Soccer Complex. U13+ players will have some games at 5 Mile Dam and some games in the surrounding area between San Antonio and Austin. We typically release the game schedule for U5-U12 the first week of practice for U5-U6, and the second week of practice for U7-U12.

Do I need to purchase anything after Registration?
Surge provides the full uniform kit for our recreational in-house players U5-U12. This will include one set of jersey, shorts & socks. Parents will need to purchase shin guards, soccer cleats, a soccer ball & a water bottle.
What if I need Financial Assistance?
If you need financial assistance, please send an email to our Registrar at tphelps@surgesoccertx.org. You will be asked to fill out a google form and will be offered a discounted registration code upon approval of your players scholarship application. At this time we are only able to offer a max of 25% discount off of registration fees.
How can I get more involved?
Surge SC relies heavily on the community for volunteers to coach our teams, recruit and organize sponsorships, & serve on general committees such as marketing, spanish translations, and community engagement.
